Shane Carwin Interview
Where were you when 9/11 happened and what emotions ran through you that day and the days after?
In a basement laying tile. The same as most Americans, outraged, sorrow, patriotism.
Do you have any family or friends used to be in the military or any that are currently serving?
Yes, Vietnam, Korean (POW), and currently family in Afghanistan.
How has the military changed your family members?
Honestly the ones that served Vietnam rarely talk about it, the ones today tell more stories. I think it brings the family closer together that’s for sure and more pride in being an American. It is good to hear the stories of those that have fought for our freedoms.
What sort of impact has them serving had on your life?
Everything, I would not be able to enjoy the same life without our military. They fought for our freedom among many things.
What have you done to support our troops (USO trips, fundraising, etc)?
We have supported pretty much any military related charities and I do my best to thank the troops as often as I can.
Is there anything else you do personally for our military or that you would like to do if given the chance?
Anything I could to repay them for the service and sacrifice.
What would you like to say to our brave men and women currently serving our country?
Thanks for all you do. You do not hear it enough but my family talks about how great you all are as much as possible. You are a true blessing to this Country and its people.

I was at Votkinsk Russia. I was an inspector for the START 1 and 2 treaty for the US. Things were spooky for a few weeks.
