Dan Dewey

Dan Dewey was born Brooklyn, NY 1942 and spent his formative years at Bishop Greer’s orphanage Hope Farm, NY courtesy NYC Children’s Court.  Entered USAF 1963 and graduated from the 3431st School Sq Lowry AFB as a 461X0 Munitions Specialist.  Drew Basic, Hazardous, Isolated, and Combat Pay over 4 years at the El Uotia Bomb Range Northern Sahara Desert and at Bien Hoa RVN assembling various munitions and recovering bombs with EOD.


Following active duty, Dan earned a Bachelors Degree in 18th Century Literature and a Masters Degree in Information Science, settling in SW Virginia in a self-sufficient life-style to homeschool 3 children on a dirt road at the end of the power line in The Blue Ridge Mts, heating with wood, while self-employed as a Research Librarian for Virginia’s DMHMRSAS for 22 years.  He is currently battling run-on sentences, an aggressive cancer and Ischemic Heart Disease associated with Agent Orange Exposure, while dealing with an LV conduction delay and profound brain atrophy secondary to PTSD.  (The new Vet Centers for combat vets have been a big help lately.)


At present Dan lives on a 31′ sloop Tarpon Springs FL with Spencer the Dog and dabbles in all sorts of art mediums when not visiting his kids.  Life is good.
